Barbera d'Asti docg 2010

Starting with vintage 2009 we have decided to bottle some Barbera from the Villa Pattono vineyards in Costigliole d’Asti. The wine is a classic Barbera d’Asti, with a good body and good aging potential (6-10 years).

Harvest period
Between the 24th and the 26th of September, 2010

Vinification Destemmed and crushed
Thermo-controlled fermentation
at a temperature of 30°C (85°F)
Average time of maceration: 7 days
Malolactic fermentation in November, in steel tanks
Refinement: one year in French oak barriques
Bottling: December 2011
Number of bottles produced: 20,000 bottles of 750 ml

Longevity of wine: 6 to 10 years

Alcoholic content: 14%
Total acidity: 5.20 g/l

Tasting notes
Intense, ruby red.
Bouquet of ripe fruit with an undercurrent of spices.
Full flavor with long persistence.
